Advanced Hypnotherapy's Pathways to Healing

Hypnosis may be used for many medical and emotional health issues.

Recently, people from all walks of life have become interested in Alternative and Complementary Therapies. Broadly speaking, the western medical community does not support the use of many of the available thearapies, claiming that adequate clinical evidence does not exist to prove the usefulness of certain treatments. However, Hypnosis and and hypnotherapy were approved by the American Medical Association in 1958, and in 1996 a panel of Doctors assembeled by the NIH recomended that hypnosis and other mind/body therapies be used for chronic pain and insomnia. These Doctors also urged insurance reimbursement for these therapies.

FAQ's About Hypnosis

My name is Cynthia Lindner, MS, CtHA I am an experienced mental health counselor and hypnotherapist. This site was created to provide accurate information about therapeutic hypnosis. Hypnosis and other mind-body techniques may be used for many physical and emotional conditions. As new research becomes available, I plan to add more information about hypnosis, more links, and discuss common applications of hypnosis.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Q: Is hypnosis safe?
A: Yes, hypnosis is safe when the practitioner is qualified.

Q: How can I find a qualified Hypnotherapist?
A: Currently, there are only a handful of states in the USA that license hypnotherapists. So it is up to the consumer to ask a prospective hypnotherapist about their training and experience and if they have any advanced certifications. Contacting a state-wide, or national hypnotherapy organization can be a good beginning to finding a qualified practitioner near your home.

Q: What does hypnosis feel like?
A: Most people report feeling awake, and being aware of their surroundings. While, at the same time, also experiencing deep relaxation and focused concentration.

Q: Can everyone become hypnotized?
A: Recent studies have revealed that most of us have a natural ability to go into a hypnotic state. Self-hypnosis is a skill that can be learned with practice. Like any other skill is can be mastered more quickly with professional guidance, and individual instruction.
